Schmeckefuchs started mixing in the hidden courtyard’s of Damascus years before the war, with an ancient soundsystem from Souq al-Haramein – the Thieves Market. Gathering crowds of artists, queers and subversive mutineers for illegal gatherings, he delivered a soundtrack made of pirate grooves – klezmer dubfunk and ska. From Damascene Rooftops his journey led him to open airs in the Palestinian Dead Sea Desert and finally to Berlin, where his music took an insidious electronic drift.
He has co-founded the Electronic Swing Orchestra and Rebellion der Träumer collective. Schmeckefuchs itinerary contains gigs at the infamous Fusion Festival and at major clubs like Berlin’s Kater Holzig, Sisyphos or Genève’s la Gravière. Schmeckefuchs holds a Residency at Berlin’s KE//ER Club.
